Club music, being way heavy in bass, prefers to be cut at very high levels. The standard level for European cuts is 6 db over standard reference level. Standard reference level is referred to as +4 db. Those who boast of cutting at +10 db are actually cutting at 6db over standard reference level. Cutting at these levels, especially heavy bass, the grooves have to be pretty spread out, and deep to keep the needle from bouncing out, especially when scratched and back-cued. This limits the time you can cut on your record.

Since dance clubs are not acoustically designed for broad spectrum stereo imaging, the better dance tunes are mixed close to mono if not entirely mono. As a money saving proposition, Aardvark East specializes in rich mono sound at a lower price than stereo cutting houses.

Aardvark East incorporates European equipment:

*We don't suggest using the 3-5/8 label at 33 as distortion at the smaller diameter increases rapidly.

All levels will be pushed to the max, 6db over standard reference level, unless unusual circumstances prevail.

The above time limits are firm as the system doesn't have any room to squeak in a few more grooves.
